Advanced Female Pattern Hair Loss (Androgenic Alopecia).

Male Pattern Hair Loss

Alopecia Areata

Without treatment this lady was rapidly heading for total baldness. She had shedding for only 6 weeks before seeing Sara and she was losing hair at an alarming rate, therefore it was inevitable the loss would get far worse before she would be able to turn it around.

This was an acute case, therefore Sara wanted to see her 3 months later rather than the usual 6 months it usually takes to regrow hair, hence the next couple of follow up photos appearing on first glance worse.

Rapid Hair loss

This 55 year old lady had “Thinning hair that over the last 6 weeks has moved into rapid hair loss so just started wearing a wig yesterday.” She had only just stopped wearing the wig literally the day before the after photos were taken, her blood levels were improved but still not optimal and it usually takes longer than this to achieve, so further improvement occurred after these photos, she’s very happy with her hair now, but hasn’t been back for a follow up, but 2 years later she has been continuing to use half the products so her “after photos” if we had them would look even better.

This 45 year old lady had the Alopecia for 3.5 years and ever since they first appeared she had been spending a fortune at another clinic which she wasn’t happy with, so started seeing Sara instead.

16 months later the previous area had almost fully regrown however she has had a very stressful past 4 months with a difficult house move and the larger patch here is actually a new one as a result of this stress which is typical of alopecia areata, she continues to keep up with her treatment plan and her blood results are now perfect, so it should regrow very quickly.

Rapidly Shedding

Extensive Alopecia Areata

This 37 year lady originally had beautiful thick long hair, but experiencing rapid shedding and without treatment was progressing to Alopecia Totalis, i.e she was likely to end up losing it all!.

Regrowing hair in your 80’s

Proving Age Is No Barrier: Overcoming Hair Loss & Scalp Psoriasis When Doctors Had Given Up!

Before

This lady was 79 when I first saw her and took this photo. Five years earlier, her GP diagnosed her with psoriasis, but their treatments didn’t help. Three years later, she noticed hair loss in growing patches, which often happens with ‘untreated scalp psoriasis’ A dermatologist performed a scalp biopsy and confirmed scarring alopecia. Then she came to me, and we started her recovery to healthier scalp and fuller hair, proving age is no barrier, as now she’s in her 80’s with much thicker hair!

After

1st Follow up | Now 80 years old | 10 months later | Regrowth well on the way and notice the grey becoming deeper pigmentation too which would usually be in reverse with age! This lady doesnt dye her hair so it’s just my M&O’s making this difference

2nd Follow up | 80 years old | Shedding reduced significantly, despite only following half of my advice. However, without my advised scalp care, her psoriasis worsened, leading to a severe patch of Pityriasis Amiantacea —thick scaling extending down the hair shafts. During examination, I removed this using my special ‘hands-on’ exfoliation technique. This highlights the importance of correctly applying my home exfoliator to keep the condition under control.

3rd Follow up | 81 years old | Temples consistently filling in nicely!

4th Follow up | 82 years old now | Compare this photo with how she looked when she was 3 years younger and in her 70’s! Just to prove you can regrow hair at any age. I encouraged her to talk to her hairdresser now about growing it longer too! She’s finally been consistent with using my scalp exfoliator at home, so I can reduce frequency of follow ups a scalp psoriasis now completely clear and just needs maintenance!

5th Follow up | 83 years old | The useful marker for this lady is she has red mole her hairline so you can see though the years how at first it was bare, but now the hair line is growing right up to it. This is actually her worse side, the left side is much thicker. It’s actually wrote common to have one side worse. Also see how her fringe is getting fuller over the years too.
